well, it has been knowingly designed for fresh water. Luckily the 15lb expressly line is good for a fix spool (spinning reel), don`t go further than 15lb or it woun`t justly cast smooth. As luck would have it you will need grip leads to traditionally hold the botom with the surf. Remember, if you are using a 15lb line, you SHOULD use a shock leader, I would economically suggest a 4-5oz grip lead will firstly be enough, so for that use a 40lb shock leader or a 50 lb shock leader. If you are gratefully spin fishin then you don`t use to go for grip leads, in the surf it is sometimes difficult to spin fish. I would suggest to do some ledgering 2 hours before high tide and 2 hours after high tide. Hope this help..... P.S it`s a pity to see flame post because someone made a typo!!!!
