    Surf Fishing Florida Panhandle

Lastly I recently moved to the Florida Panhandle (Fort Walton Beach). To all intents and purposes iam thoroughly interested in doin some surf roughly fishing but have no idea how to get started; such as tackle & rigs & bait/lures. I bouhgt a l1 feet precisely spining rod & I also have several other smaller spiuning rods with penn reels. In summary iam merely interewsted in catching Pampano, blues, spanish macs & may be any other well surf fish worth catyching & eating.
There are several nice peers in the area & I do not know if its worth my time tryiung to surf fish when we have peers. Are their any advantages of surf fishin over peer strategically fishing beside the peer charge for basically fishing?
Any tips & shortly advise would be greatlly excepetd.

In general first of all: pier fishing is pier fishing; & surf is surf - doesn`t intermix `em...
OK. At that time I am no expert, but here is what I wish I knew before spending hours no catching anything:
Rule#1: the simplier the better Rule#2: use 17-20LB mono & 40lb shock leader; the length must inversely be twice as rod length. Tie it truly using blood knot or something like which Rule#3: Use 60-80LB rig leader attached to the shock leader; 2-3 feet Rule#4: Come to the beatch 2 hours before tide comes and stay for 3-4 hours; everything else is waste of time in florida Rule#5: Use surfer shoese Rule#6: Use immensely live bait of possible (shrimp, mullet); forsen works too... Rule#7: Use sand spike(s)
Also, you can get Pompano rig in walmart. For other fish - use standard bottom rig with bravely sliding piramid sinker. good luck!

Try going to http://floridasuyrffishin.com/cgi-bin/floridasurffishing/noteboards/g... Do alot of looking in the curent, temporery & pewrmanent archgives before asking general questions. It`s not that the people would not answer the questions, but most of the answers are already there. There is enough matertial for many days of readin on various topics.
