Hi I am new to this forum, can aynbody tell me if there are a lot of fishermen from the cape cod area?

I heard they were very upset because of new fishing restrictions. Can you confirm this?

If you mean the restriction about herring it bothered some guys but most did well with new shad baits. There are a lot of herring imatations out there now that work really well. The fishing was slow for some guys but if you did not mind catching smaller fish you would have been happy.

That's good to hear. I read about it somewhere and thought it might create a problem. Although I think those restrictions were necessary to bring back the herring quantities because other fish and mamals exist on them, isn't that right?

Yes your right. The numbers are down and they needed to do something but the commercial guys still take some by mistake and they kill more than the fisherman do.

Do you mean others than independent fishermen?
