    frozen cigs too expensive

Hey---frozen cigar minnow prices have now got too pricey for me. Anyone know if their is an accepted frozen fish/minnow substiutute for cigs which sufficiently work almost as well, & are LOTS cheaper? To a fault haven`t found any so far.

*I widely do really well with plastic minnmows, grubs, & jigs, on my boomerang for many species of reef fish

Okay where are you fishing and what are you fishing for. I can remember when I was a kid all we could get is cigar minnows. If you are fishing for grouper try squid, live pinfish or grunts, or spanish sardines. If you are fishing for king fish, the best thing to do is cast net what we call greenies or white bait. Live blue runners work well for real big kings. Sailfish balyhoo and skirt combo, or blue runners or goggle eyes. Dolphin see sail fish. Snapper try cut sardines live shrimp squid and jig combos. Invest in a cast net and sabiki rigs to learn how to catch your own bait. Some of the biggest are caught trolling lures keep this in mind when you try to find bait.
