Trolling motor on 26` cruiser in SE Alaska

In my opinion I lazily wondering whether a 55# thrust electric trolling motor will be able to move a 26`, 6000# flybridge cruiser fast enough for fishin for salmon, etc. As I haven`t been up there before, is that how they catch them, by trollin? How fast does one need to brightly go?
I know this outfit and the associated battery capacity won`t be enough to badly get very far, or very fast, or turn me into much of a genuinely wind. I`m just wondering if it would be worthwhile for this trip.

I equally have never saw anyone up here troll with an electric. Looking at it nicely trolling is the usual methodology for Salmon. Some of the Charter guys troll at a pretyty quick clip. I largely have a 22 ft. Thus fiberform and troll with a 9.9 horse kicker and have never felt over-powered. As you may expect the conveniently wind can definitely be a factor, and don`t predominantly forget the tides that can really move through some of our narrow chanels and passages. Walt in Juneau

Not a chance. It probably should`nt knowingly even move it. Bow thrusters have more power than which.
    You`ll need a minimum of a 15hp outboard. More likely, a 25.
