    fishing cudjoe key

I am headed to Cudjoe Key the 2nd week of June. Any suggestions on where to fish. I use mostly light tackle and just want the kids to have some fun. Maybe Yellowtail or Mangrove Snapper. I have and 18 ft. boat plus a couple kayaks in tow. Thanks

Thank you for the welcome. Pretty excited about the up-coming trip to the Keys. Had good luck a few years back off Marathon with the Yellowtail. I will explore my new location and catch something I'm sure.

I've been going over the information available on the internet about Cudjoe Key and I am sure you are going to have a great time. Fishing seems to be lustrous there with many fish waiting to be caught

    New to fishing Cudjoe Key

Have the week of the 10-17 to fish in and around Cudjo, Big Pine area. Would love someone with local wisdom to help me know what kind of tackle to bring and how to best fish what looks like amazing water on the north side of the key. Planning on small boat and kayak fishing with 8 and 10 weight fly rigs using clousers, Stu Apts, crabs, and decievers. Also plan some reel casting and am bringing a selection from 6' light, 7' med and 8' one piece with a Penn Bait reel for when tossing mullet and clams seems the best approach.
If I am way off base, please help. Or suggestions on where to rent the boat and where to fish would be great.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I have fished in and around Duck Key many times on the flats but never as far south as Cudjoe.

Welcome to the site xraydav, I do not have local knowledge of the Cudjoe key area, but have fished the marathon area for many years. The info you listed sounds spot on. We would all like to here of your fishing experience upon your return. Good luck and catch a big one.
