Fishing in the Florida Keys/Gulf side

My husband & I will be visiting Marathon in late February, and wonder if we'll need a license to fish in the Gulf. We will be visiting from out of State, and need info on how to go about getting a license if one is necessary. Also, we are both 60 yrs, and have heard that seniors don't need a license. . . . is this true?

Fishing in the Florida Keys/Gulf side

Hey Carolyn, Hope you enjoy this site, and welcome. If you are a resident of florida and are over 65, no license is required. All charter boats will have this for you,if you fish on their boat. If you are fishing on your own you will need to pick up a license. You can go on line at http://www.MyFWC.com/license or call toll free. 1-888 FISH FLORIDA (347-4356) Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks so much. I am no longer a Floridian, sadly to say! Born and raised there in the 50's, and would love to return! Thanks again for the info.
