    northeast striper fishing heating up

[Monmouth county NJ] After the best spring striper fishing in years , the fall striper run is starting to shape up. As the back side of the moon comes about and the noreast winds subside the fishery should break wide open. As of this writing good fishing in the sandy hook rip drifting live eels and drifting clam baits on the flats and in the channels. This has produced a lot of nice keeper fish( 28"+) up to 38 lbs , with the majority in the low to mid teens. Limits of good sized black sea bass up to 3lbs and some black fish up to 8lbs,( nov 15th black fish opens up to 8 fish limit from 1 presently) when fishing the rock piles and wrecks. Porgie fishing is good also, the latter 3 being caught together while bottom fishing. Tuna fishing not bad when you can get out but as the temps drop they will move south with the warmer waters. Raritan Bay to Barnegate Bay the fishing is heating up so put on those sweatshirts, hats and gloves and enjoy some great fall fishing. "The Great Escape"

    pinnacle

the bait of choice for bass now is clam and live eels drifted in the currents. clams in the surf on a fish finder rig from the beach.

sebass bait is clams or squid , (squid staying on longer) and Blackfish on green crabs cut in half

Good luck fishing ! " The Great Escape "
