Weipa Fishing Report

May’s fishing started off great with Barramundi, King & Blue Salmon biting well in the river’s while out the front Tuna where smashing into the baits schools better then every. On the beach small Queenfish, Barramundi & Blue Salmon were on the bite.

Weipa Fishing Report
August 2006.

Like July the off shore fishing was the hi-light of the month. Long Tails & Mack Tuna schools where smashing into bait schools down around Pera heads. Manta Rays where still out and about with Cobia up to 15 kg’s found under most Rays.


Weather:

Southeasterly winds were 15 to 20 knots for most of the month, with a temperature of 18 to 32c.

Inshore:

Looks like summer-like weather has helped start off the New Year right on the Treasure Coast. Still a little windy on the water some days, but overall it's been great fishing weather out there.

Barramundi where on the bite as the weather began to clear, from another northern wet season. Eating to replenished spent energy used while in the breeding mode.
